The Most Lovable Anime Moms

“When you look into your mother’s eyes, you know that is the purest love you can find on this earth.” _Mitch Albom.

Mitch said it, no love purer than that of a mother. A mother is one, if not the most important character in one’s life. Everything a child grows up into has a strong link to his or her mother’s teachings. Such caring entities are not just confined to the real world, as the world of anime too holds some of these very kind, caring, and lovable creatures. So as mothers day came approached, I thought that why not bring for you some of my favorite motherly characters, highlighting a few of the anime world’s most amazing and lovable moms.

Before we get to it, I’d like to point out that these entries aren’t ranked because each of the characters I’m about to discuss holds a very special place in my heart.

Zenith greyrat

Compared to the rest of the entries on this list, Zenith Greyrat comes from a relatively newer show, Moshoku Tensei. But that doesn’t make her any less adorable. A mother figure to Rudeus, Zenith is a loving mother who pampers the hell out of Rudeus, catering to his every need. She even goes as far as to forgive her husband for cheating with their maid, Lilia, as Rudeus pleads her to let it go. Along with Rudeus, she looks after Lilia’s daughter and forgets about the events of the past. She adores her children and isn’t afraid to show her affection for them.

Inko Midoriya

My Hero Academia Fans Shouldn't Be Worried About Izuku's Mom Right Now

Boku no Hero Academia is a show filled with inspiring characters with motivational stories. But not every important character in this show is a hero or a villain. Inko, Izuku’s mother, is one such inspiring character. This mother and child duo had a wonderful childhood friendship. She always encouraged Izuku to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a hero. Though that dream did shatter for a time, when Izuku gained his powers, his mother too gained that confidence back. She always seems concerned for Izuku’s well-being, even heart broken when he returns home with new scars. Despite this, she still supports him with all her heart, finding happiness in her boy’s dream. Inko also designed Izuku’s hero costume, which he proudly wears as a symbol of his mother’s love. Her compassion towards her child truly makes her a lovable and wholesome character.

Kushina Uzumaki

When Does Naruto Meet His Mom, Kushina Uzumaki? - TechNadu

Kushina Uzumaki is one mother who need no introduction. Mother to Uzumaki Naruto (was that an introduction?) , Kushina is everything that represents a mother’s unending love for her child. She was a mature and strong mother who did her best to provide for her son what she lacked as a child. She even gave her own life without hesitation in order to defend her kid and the town against the threat of Kurama. Her tale is terrible, yet it serves as a metaphor of how mothers go to great lengths for their children.

Chi-Chi

Chi-Chi | Team Four Star Wiki | Fandom

Chi-Chi is mother to Gohan and Goten’s in the Dragon Ball Z anime series. She has earned her rightful place on this list as a role model for being a caring and headstrong mother. Despite being strict and nagging, she only wants what’s best for them and wants them to succeed. She was originally opposed to her children learning to fight and preferred that they study so that they could have a secure future. But, while Goku was away, she trained Goten and taught him how to fight on her own. She exemplifies how much mothers care about their children’s well-being and future.

Yasuko Takasu

Yasuko Takasu | Toradora Wiki | Fandom

Ryuuji’s mother from Toradora is Yasuko! She exemplifies how difficult it is to raise a child on your own, especially at such a young age. Although Yasuko appears to be carefree and always having fun, she has had a difficult life since she was a child. She had to work two jobs to support herself and her son. She worked tirelessly to ensure that her son had everything she lacked as a child, so that he can go to school and grow up to be someone respectable. Personally, I really like her wholesome character.

Sanae furukawa

The next mother on this list comes from the show none other than Clannad. Sanae is portrayed as a strong-willed woman who takes care of everyone. She looks after her daughter while she is pregnant, and even has to deal with her death later on in the series. She then raises her granddaughter for a long period too. She makes decisions without allowing her feelings to influence them. She even let Tomoya take back his daughter, and didn’t let her feelings get in the way of doing the right thing. She’s a sweet character who also manages to keep the show’s tone lighthearted by cracking jokes.

Hana

Parental Thoughts About THE WOLF CHILDREN

Hana is one of the protagonists from the movie, The Wolf Children. She is depicted as a university student who falls in love with a wolf-man. She has two children with her lover but due a tragic turn of events, her husband passes away and she is left alone to raise their half human, half wolf children. She goes through a lot of hardships just to raise her children and meet their unconventional demands. She devotes her life to giving her children the best life she could provide them with. She knows when to use her authority as a parent and when to respect the decisions her children make for themselves. Even though at the end, her children both move away from her and leave her alone, she doesn’t hold it against them and still loves them unconditionally. Really shows how much of a pure hearted person she is.

Sachiko Fujinuma

Sachiko Fujinuma is mother to Satoru, the main protagonist of Erased. For being a wonderful and excellent mother, she deserves to be at the top of the list. Sachiko is a selfless and diligent single mother. Even though her son is an adult, she continues to support him and provides him with excellent counsel. Her feelings for Kayo are similar to those of a mother. She treats her as if she were her own daughter, demonstrating that a mother’s love is not constrained by genetics. It really moved me to see her caring for a comatose Satoru, despite the fact that there was no guarantee that he would ever wake up.
